WHAT IS A NON-SURGICAL THREAD LIFT?

A Silhouette Soft® non-surgical thread lift is an alternative to a traditional face lift.

As we age, we not only lose volume in our face, but also our tissues. These fat pads slide forward towards the centre of the face and south. The ageing process also creates heavy nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), marionette lines (mouth to chin lines), jowls, and loss of jawline contour. Over-injecting the cheeks without addressing the underlying anatomical change can lead to unsightly results which we now see commonly.

Traditionally, the only way to correct this would have been a surgical face lift,
however this carries scarring, potential complications and considerable downtime. In recent years and with advances in technology, the Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift has transformed the landscape of non-surgical face lift options.

Using unique technology of dissolvable threads, Silhouette Soft® lifts the tissues, acting as a non-surgical face lift.

The threads are made of Polylactic (PLLA) acid sutures which stimulate your skins type 1 collagen production before being broken naturally by the body over a period of 24 months.

HOW DOES A SILHOUETTE SOFT® THREAD LIFT WORK?

Before the treatment Dr M will administer a local anaesthetic before carefully inserting each suture into the skin. The threads create an instant lifting effect by providing support to the tissues. As well as having a lifting effect, these threads stimulate collagen production, improving skin texture and elasticity, enhancing the results of your treatment.

IS A SILHOUETTE SOFT® THREAD LIFT PAINFUL?

A Silhouette Soft® thread lift is moderately uncomfortable, however Dr Minocha uses a local anaesthetic prior to the treatment being carried out. You may experience a slight pinching or pulling sensation as the threads are inserted and adjusted. After treatment you may experience mild swelling, bruising or soreness at the treatment sites; this can be managed with paracetamol as needed.

HOW MUCH DOES A SILHOUETTE SOFT® THREAD LIFT COST?

The number of threads required for your individual needs will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation with Dr M. As a guide, most patients need 6-10 threads @ £450 per thread. A full-face rejuvenation using Silhouette Soft threads would be £4500.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?

The results from a Silhouette Soft® Thread lift are instant and long lasting with most patients seeing longevity of around 12-18 months, however results vary depending on the individual and are influenced by factors such as individual skin quality, age and lifestyle factors.
